hi! I’m Sam

Your go-to wedding planner

I’m Sam Gordon — a true A-type planner with a meticulously organized home and work life, but I still leave the fridge open and drink from a coffee cup instead of a travel mug. I grew up in Michigan (I can spot a Midwest accent instantly) and packed up my 1998 Saturn the day after college graduation to head straight for Winter Park, Colorado. Sixteen years later, I’m still here—and endlessly grateful I trusted my passion.

Over the years, I’ve been taught by the best in nearly every part of Grand County’s hospitality scene: I’ve washed dishes in a tiny Thai restaurant, served tables, managed a high-volume ski resort restaurant, assisted talented wedding planners, and led recruiting and hospitality training for Winter Park Resort’s food and beverage department. My attention to detail is second nature, and adding a creative passion like wedding planning to my week has never felt like work.

My first wedding came out of a storm—literally. A couple lost their venue to a hurricane and moved their celebration to Winter Park with less than a month’s notice. It was a ski season holiday weekend, on a tight budget, and together we pulled off something beautiful. GC Connections was born.

Now, whether it’s just the two of you or 300 guests, I’m here to create a jaw-dropping, meaningful celebration—and introduce you to the beautiful, caring community I call home.

Off the clock, you can find me planning my next trip, or camping, baking, and paddle boarding with my daughter Cora. My niece Harper believes I’ll plan Taylor Swift’s wedding someday (a girl can dream), and when I’m stressed, I read, run, or put on Eminem and reorganize the house for the 50th time. I have visited France, the Netherlands, Spain, Uganda, Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina and Peru, but my favorite place will forever be Lake Michigan. I still wear skinny jeans and blast Destiny’s Child, and yes, of course I will be your hype girl!

I’m so glad you’re here—and I can’t wait to meet you.

I never miss a detail, and adding a creative passion to my week has never felt like work.
